Roberge letter of resignation
The letter of resignation submitted by outgoing Town Manager Ed Roberge has been posted on new-shoreham.com as part of the Town Council’s Oct. 30 meeting agenda.
The letter is dated Monday, Oct. 21. The council is expected to discuss its plan of finding a successor at its Wednesday, Oct. 30 meeting at Town Hall. The meeting begins as 7 p.m.
By the time he leaves office in December, Roberge will have served 23 months of a five year contract.— Lars Trodson
The text of Roberge’s letter:
“Dear Honorable First Warden, Second Warden and Members of Town Council:
“After careful consideration, this communication serves as notice of my resignation as Town Manager for the Town of New Shoreham, effective December, 20, 2019.
“It has been an honor to serve as New Shoreham’s Town Manager. I greatly appreciate the privilege and opportunity to serve a Town Council as supportive as yours.
“I am proud of the important work we completed during my tenure as your Town Manager. I will depart Block Island confident that the community is strong and our good, hardworking staff will maintain its tradition of excellence.
“I am thankful for the Council’s unwavering support and remain committed to working with Council and staff on a smooth and orderly transition as I prepare to leave office in December.
“Thank you for allowing me to serve the Town of New Shoreham.
