Information for Voters
Voting in the Republican and Democrat Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) will be from NOON through 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Town Hall. Voters will be able to elect either Republican or Democrat Party presidential candidates and convention delegates. Voters must be registered by March 24. You may register to vote at the Police Station on Beach Avenue between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 24, or before then at the Town Clerk’s Office at Town Hall Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Absentee ballot applications for the PPP are available and MUST be returned to Town Hall by April 3, 2012. Get your application from Town Hall or the internet: http://sos.ri.gov/elections/ppp/
Voters are now required to bring ID to the polls! Bring your valid driver’s license, state-issued nondriver ID, school or military ID, passport, social security card or birth certificate. Voter ID’s will be issued at Town Hall on April 19 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm for anyone who does not have another form of ID. Call your Board of Canvassers at 466-3200 if you have questions about any of these matters.

Position Title: Wastewater Operator I
Supervisor: Sewer Superintendent
Salary: $14.00 to $18.00/hour - 40 hours per week - Family benefits
High School Diploma or GED and valid driver's license required. Position requires
strenuous physical dexterity. Applicant must obtain a Grade 1 Rhode Island Wastewater
license within one (1) year of employment. Responsible for proper operation and
maintenance of pumping stations and treatment plant and to assist in delivery of efficient
sewer services for the New Shoreham Sewer Commission on Block Island. Applications
