ZONING MODIFICATION REQUEST
Michael and Nancy Sargent. Assessors Plat 20, Lot 8-3. Application for a Zoning Modification to construct a new fourteen (14’) foot by twenty-one (21’) foot single story Accessory Structure to be used as a garage/storage building. The proposed building will be located forty-two (42’) feet from the front property line and forty-four (44’) feet from the eastern property line of lot 8-3. A fifty (50’) foot setback is required from all property lines in the Residential A (RA) Zoning District. If no written objections are received from directly abutting property owners by 8 January 2018 the Zoning Modification will be granted.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of New Shoreham Zoning Board of Review will be in session at the Town Hall, Old Town Road on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 5:30 PM for a regular meeting.  
All persons interested will be heard for or against the granting of the following Applications/appeals under the Zoning Ordinances:
    •    Rosman, Lowell and Jane. Plat 5, Lot 35. Application by John Spier for a Variance from Sections 113(C) and 309(C) to convert an existing structure into a single family dwelling and to rebuild an existing accessory structure.

LEGAL NOTICE
ZONING MODIFICATION REQUEST
Matthew Gaffney. Assessors Plat 16, Lot 51. Application for a Zoning Modification to construct a seven (7) foot by four foot six inch (4’6”) entry stairway to access the rear door of a home under construction. The stairway will be located forty-four (44’) feet from the rear property line of Lot 51. A fifty (50’) foot setback is required from all property lines in the Residential A (RA) Zoning District. If no written objections are received from directly abutting property owners by 16 January 2018 the Zoning Modification will be granted.

PUBLIC NOTICE
Block Island Land Trust
Invitation to Bid
The Block Island Land Trust is soliciting special separate bids for mowing at Fresh Pond (Plat 11, Lot 60) and Turnip Farm (Plat 16, Lots 74-(2-6)). Bidders may bid on one or both jobs. The traditional mowing areas at Fresh Pond will be divided into sections and mowed on an intermittent schedule to better manage species and habitat. Completion dates are below.  A map for each property showing the separate mowing areas is available upon request. Please supply a total bid price for each job.
Fresh Pond Mowing (Plat 11 Lot 60)
Mow fields to a height of 4 inches, including poplar saplings, and observing 50-foot buffer around perimeter of pond. One mowing for each Area as delineated on Map:
    •    Area 1: Completion between  January 15 – April 1, 2018.
    •    Area 2: Completion between July 1 – July 15, 2018.
Turnip Farm Mowing  (Plat 16 Lots 74-(2, 3, 4, 5 & 6)
Mow fields to a height of 4 inches.
Completion between February 1 – March 31, 2018.
Bids will be received by the Block Island Land Trust until 2:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, January 11, 2018.  Bids will be opened and read aloud at the January 11, 2018 Land Trust meeting at 4:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, Old Town Road, Block Island. Bids may be awarded at that time.  The Land Trust reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Insurance:  Mowing contractors are required to carry liability insurance consistent with Town of New Shoreham requirements.  Proof of this insurance must be supplied to the Land Trust with bid, unless it is already on file.
