NAMI presents “Circles and Silence”
NAMI Block Island and The Island Free Library will co-sponsor “Circles and Silence,” a 16-minute film produced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of Rhode Island, on Thursday, August 25 at 5:30 p.m. Nominated for five Emmy Awards, the film is narrated by a group of young adults who are in recovery from opioid addition. In the film we learn that recovery is different for all of them.
The screening will be presented by David Neil, Community Engagement and Crime Prevention Coordinator for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Rhode Island. Following the screening, members of the cast will facilitate a discussion of the film and answer questions about their personal experience with opioid addiction and their journey in recovery. This is a very relevant topic for the island and we invite all to attend and learn about opioid addiction and the struggles of recovery. There is no charge for the event.
