Lydia Lazar to sign her book, “Golden Guide”
Lydia Lazar, author of “Dean Lazar’s Golden Guide,” will appear at Island Bound Bookstore on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 5 p.m. to talk about “networking like a pro” and sign her book.
Lazar's “Golden Guide: Pragmatic Career Advice for Smart Young People,” is designed for all young people who want to find opportunities to be paid to think and to continue to develop their skills while making a contribution to the work of a larger enterprise. The tone and approach is supportive, warm and engaging. Students and young professionals, both domestic and international, will benefit from reading through the Guide multiple times over the early years of their careers, and they will come back time and again to its actionable advice and suggestions.
Former associate dean for recruitment and career services at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, and previously, dean of international law and policy overseeing international student admissions at Chicago-Kent College of Law, Lazar holds an AB degree in government/international relations from Dartmouth College; a master’s degree in geography from Columbia University with a focus on urban hydrology; and a JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Lazar is active/admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois. Earlier in her career, Lazar worked as an executive reporting to the President of Waste Management International, and as chief of staff to the CEO of the Division of Public Services in the Department of General Services of the City of New York.
