Movie and a Meal at Harbor Church

A light supper will be served every Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Dessert and coffee accompany the film at 7 p.m. Tell your friends about this great off-season social time.

Senior Ride Service Up and Running

The Senior Advisory Committee has re-started the Senior Ride Service for island seniors, persons with special needs, and caregivers without transportation. The cost is $3 per round trip. Pickleball

Every Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. at the Block Island School gymnasium. All levels. Instructions and equipment provided.

The Block Island School Friends are having a pie sale Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Island Free Library. There will also be Hurricanes clothing for sale.

Shopping Stroll

The annual Holiday Shopping Stroll is Friday, Nov. 29 to Sunday, Dec. 1, at various locations around town. 

Further Afield Fundraiser

There will be a Lunch Café during the Stroll on Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Yellow Kittens. The Block Island School 10th Grade class will be serving up soup, grilled cheese, and more.  

Holiday Open House

The Nature Conservancy is hosting an Open House on Friday, Nov. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. at The 1661 Inn on Spring Street to give thanks to the island community for supporting the program.

James Stover Exploration Series: Night Walk

Friday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. Meet at Second Bluffs on Mohegan Trail. Bring a flashlight and please dress warmly.

Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Island Free Library will be hosting its annual indoor market. Vendors include craftspeople, artists, and bakers.

Block Island Turkey Trot In Memory of Michael Coords

The Block Island School Friends will be selling holiday greens and plants, along with Hurricanes clothing, at the Block Island School. Starting Wednesday, Dec. 4 through Friday, Dec. 6 from 12 to 3 p.m.

NAMI-BI Support Group

Saturday, Dec. 7. NAMI-BI Family Support Group will meet at the Island Free Library, Room C, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Anyone with a close friend or family member who is affected by living with mental illness is welcome. Anyone can attend and listen or speak as they wish.

Fungipedia: Walk & Talk

Saturday, Dec.7 at 11 a.m. Mushroom Walk at the Boy Scout Camp. Meet at Neptune House parking area, upper Connecticut Ave. Then at 4 p.m. book talk, reading and signing at Island Free Library, with Lawrence Millman author of “Fungipedia: A Brief Compendium of Mushroom Lore.”

Winter Shopping Craft Fairs

Sunday, Dec. 8 from 2 to 6 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be homemade crafts on sale for Christmas presents at the Harbor Church.

Library Annual Holiday Party

The Friends and staff of the Island Free Library invite you to the Annual Holiday Party on Friday, Dec. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Library. Visit with your friends and neighbors, sing along with the holiday music (or just listen), and savor the delicious refreshments.
