The Nature Conservancy & Block Island Conservancy

The TNC and BIC co-sponsor free, guided nature programs throughout the year. Together, they offer many different ways to connect to the fields, marshes, and beaches that make the island so exceptional. Check out the advertisement on page. Dodge Street Nightmarket

Join Dodge Street businesses Thursday evenings for shopping and entertainment offerings geared toward all ages and families. Games, stories, and workshops, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Soup Group

Not New Boutique 

Open every Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Parish Center, Spring Street, lower level and barn. Good clean used clothing, shoes, and hats at great prices! Accepting donations throughout the summer at the drop-off box at the Parish Center. Please no household items.

5k Family Fun Run/Walk

The National Alliance on Mental Illness-BI and the Block Island Medical Center are sponsoring a beach run or walk on Sunday, Aug. 4 at the Beach Pavilion. Register in advance at RunSignup.com or the day of the race. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., race starts at 10:30 a.m. Pets welcome. 

The Mary D. Ball

The 25th annual Mary D. Ball will be held at The Sullivan House on Sunday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door. It’s a family friendly event, put your dancing shoes on and come to the ball.

“Jaws” On The Water

Monday, Aug. 5 at the Block Island Club, “Jaws” will be played watch from the water movie starts at 8:45 p.m. All proceeds go to the Block Island Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

Gardening for the Future - Going Green

Nationally recognized garden club presenter Paul Split will speak on “Gardening for the Future - Going Green” at the Library on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 3 p.m.  Wine, cheese and other refreshments will be served. This event is co-sponsored by the Block Island Gardeners and the Friends of the Island Free Library.
