Eat Drink R.I. Festival
Presenting farmers, chefs, bartenders, and food and drink artisans from across the state, the Festival offers entertaining panels, educational sessions, special dining and cocktail opportunities, and culminates in the Grand Tasting featuring local chef demonstrations and beverage tastings. Great Swamp Walk
Join the Audubon Society and Bob Kenney for a springtime walk into the Great Swamp Management Area. Because of the high diversity of habitats, Great Swamp supports a large variety of both resident and migratory birds. It has been an excellent site for finding several rarities over the years. Amphibians and reptiles are also awake after their long winter naps and will be active. Rain date is May 1. Fee is $14/adult and $7/child. All ages. Derby Day
Come celebrate the Kentucky Derby and delight in multiple entertainments including a hat contest (most glamorous, most outrageous, best racing theme), raffles and amusing games, the Derby shown on large screen, and special refreshments served all afternoon. Transit of Mercury
On Monday, May 9, is a fabulous celestial event is happening. Mercury, the closest planet to the Sun, will pass in between the Sun and Earth, visibly crossing the surface of the Sun from our view point. Frosty Drew Observatory will be open all day long in celebration of this spectacular event.
